I occasionally get asked to do interviews. It's always fun! But I found Jamie's questions to be especially thoughtful. So if you really want to know more about me and my work . . . go check it out!
You have until September 12 to enter! So sorry, but U.S. only. Kensington Publishing is providing the books. So go enter! And be sure to add Just Between Us to your Goodreads list.
Okay, really, I'm just complaining about website design.
I'm a writer, not a web designer, so every time I have to update my site, I get a little stressed out! A LOT stressed out.
So forgive my mess! I'll get this sorted out eventually.
In the meantime, a book recommendation. Well, two actually. These are author friends of mine and I love their work
I, TOO, HAVE SUFFERED IN THE GARDEN by Jennifer Hritz.
I, too, Have Suffered in the Garden introduces you to Adam and Joel, an Austin couple in danger. Adam is chased by rabid ghosts: his former partner’s death from AIDS, his dad’s cancer, his brutal job, his own lies. Joel watches from his art studio, desperately strategizing salvation. The story unfurls, tripping between destruction and forgiveness, driven by the suspense of desire and memory.
With poignancy, grace, and infinitely readable prose, I, too, Have Suffered in the Garden illuminates the legacy of psychological trauma, the ways in which the past can malign the present, and the sustainability of even the most fleeting sense of hope.
BLUE, by Russ Gregory
One-hundred-and-three-year-old nursing home resident Ruth Brookes holds the key to an unsolved series of murders, and what she knows has never been more important. A psychotic killer is once again stalking gay men in the streets of Austin.
Meanwhile, Matt Bell has finally decided to break out of the social isolation he’s lived in since being shot by the still-at-large killer, and meets the handsome, broody, and shy Thatcher. Both men are fighting their own demons as the killings start again. Soon the body count is rising and their friends are dropping like flies.
Will Ruth give up her secrets in time to stop the madman before Matt and Thatcher find themselves in the crosshairs of his rifle? Only Ruth knows for sure, because life is seldom black and white—more often it is just shades of blue.
I hope you'll read them both! Jennifer and Russ and I will be doing an event together in Austin in late September. Maybe I'll see you there!
In the meantime, if you're really techy and want to fix my website, call me!
I came across this YouTube vid the other day and I was so taken with it, I had to share. This talented young man is a student at The University of Texas. Check out his YouTube channel for more awesome videos. I think you'll like his Glee audition, his extreme version of the cup song, and his superheroes diddy.
I'm really excited about Just Between Us. For those of you who've read Don't Let Me Go and Where You Are, I hope you're excited about finally reading Luke's story.
JBU is available for purchase September 24! Pre-order now and be among the first to read it!
By the way, what do you think of the cover?
